Crystal Palace Announce Roy Hodgson Has The New Manager

Crystal Palace  has announced the appointed of the former Liverpool and England boss as their new manager on Tuesday. The 70-year-old manager, has replaced Frank de Boer after the Dutchman was sacked following just four league games in charge of the south London club on a two years contract. Hodgson, who began his playing career at Palace, has previously managed Blackburn, Fulham, Liverpool and West Brom in the Premier League. He will take charge for Palace's Premier League game against Southampton on Saturday at Selhurst Park. Ray Lewington, who worked with Hodgson at England and Fulham, has been named as his assistant.

Soldiers Invade IPOB Leader Nnamdi Kanu`s Residence

The Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) leader, Nnamdi Kanu, were said to have been wounded when armed soldiers allegedly invaded his home at Afaraukwu Ibeku, Umuahia, Abia State, on Sunday. About three Hilux vans loaded with heavily-armed soldiers were said to have been stationed near the house of the IPOB leader. This came as Kanu alleged that the soldiers were shooting sporadically as they approached his father’s compound, causing panic and pandemonium among residents of the area. He said they wanted to gain entry into his father’s compound but that IPOB members quickly formed human shield around it and resisted them. DELSU Council Dismissed 14 Lecturers, 17 Non-Academic Staff And Provost in Oleh Campus

The  Governing Council of Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, has sacked 14 lecturers and 17 non-academic staff members,  It also removed the Provost at the Oleh campus and a dean, School of Postgraduate Studies for alleged misconduct. The council also sanctioned several lecturers and non-teaching staff for extortion, sexual harassment, abandonment of duty, gross misconduct, denial of promotion for some years, and also issued strong warning to some staff for alteration of students’ scores and abuse of office. 15years WAEC record breaker who obtained 9A1s in the May/June 2017 West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE), Ikeoluwa Abioye appeal for state scholarship in Osun state. Ikeoluwa Abioye, who is Osun State indigene with examination number 4251025002 recorded 9A1s in Civic Education, English Language, Further Mathematics, General Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Studies and Catering Craft Practice. The Sultan of Sokoto and Chairman Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, has declared Sept. 1, as the Eid-Kabir  day.  According to the statement made available to newsmen in Sokoto on Wednesday, indicate the declaration follows the sighting of the new moon of Zulhijja on Tuesday.  “The advisory committee in conjunction with the National Committee on Moon Sighting received various reports on moon sighting across the country confirming the sighting of new moon of Zulhijja on Tuesday"  He added that Sultan felicitates with all Muslims and wished them Allah’s guidance, blessings and protection.

Decision To Scrap The Post-UTME Was A Mistake. Says Malam Adam Adam

The Federal Government on Tuesday revive post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (Post-UTME) screening exercise which was cancelled during 2015/2016 admission exercise.  Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu, gave the directive, regretted the earlier decision to cancel the post-UTME screening exercise as a great mistake, said that the volte-face by government was because of the economic challenges that engulfed the nation and the reality on ground. Adam Adam, who gave the above directive during the policy meeting for the 2017/2018 admission exercise with Vice Chancellors, Rectors, Provosts, and Registrars of tertiary institutions at the National Judicial Institute, Abuja, also directed varsities to ensure that the Post-UTME exercise must be by aptitude test and that students be charged N2,000 as fees.  He said: ’The decision to scrap the post-UTME screening exercise last year was a mistake that must not be repeated as students must be properly scre...
