“I Really Don’t Care About Any Player Anywhere Else,” Say Barcelona Newly Boss

Barcelona newly boss Ernesto Valverde laughed off the idea of bringing in new players on Monday saying the best signings were the players already in the dressing room. “I’m more than happy with the way things stand,” said Valverde when pressed on the potential signing of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti. “Happy with the players, happy with their work and their attitude,” he said as his players prepare for their trip to the United States on Wednesday. “I really don’t care about any player anywhere else,” he said, knowing fans will be keen to win back the Spanish League title and indeed the Champions League, both won by their arch-rivals Real Madrid. “Even if you might argue we need back up in certain areas,” he said, adding Barcelona had no offers on the table for any of their players either.

18 People dead And 18 Missing In China Deadly Deluge

Flood visit China’s northeast has left 18 dead and 18 missing, state media said Monday, after the latest deadly deluge to hit the country this summer. According   Xinhua News Agency . The central and eastern parts of Jilin province were hit by driving rain Thursday and Friday,  More than 110,000 were forced to flee the city of Jilin due to the heavy rain, it said, adding that the government had sent over 32,000 rescue workers to the area. China has been hit by a series of fatal floods this summer, leaving dozens dead and displacing huge numbers of people. Last week authorities said that at least 63 were killed by landslides and floods in central China, which forced 1.6 million to flee. Authorities in the southern region of Guangxi earlier this month said two dozen people had been killed or gone missing due to flooding, which also damaged thousands of houses.

Somolu Resident Lament Over Violence Increasement In The Community

Residents of Somolu area of Lagos on Sunday lamented the increased rate of ferocity in the area. They alleged that violence was not unconnected with the upcoming local government election in the area. It would be recalled that there was sporadic shootings in the area Thursday evening during a rally organised by the All Progressives Congress. The violence resulted to the damage of vehicles, injuries and pandemonium in the area. The spokesperson of Somolu Indegenious Youths, Mr. Shina Abbey, complained that residents in the area were uncomfortable with the security situation in the area. He appealed to political parties not to turn Somolu to a battle ground in the name of election. He said, “It appears that the forth coming LG election which we hope will restore normalty and development to Somolu is turning out to be a doom in the making. “This persistent violence is caused by members of the same APC. Family Missing After Flood Invade Central Arizona

Nine people are dead and one is missing after flash flooding swept away a family at a swimming hole in central Arizona, police say. Fourteen family members were near the Cold Springs Swimming Hole on Saturday afternoon when heavy rains caused flash floods, said Sgt. David Hornung with the Gila County Sheriff’s Department. The victims have not been identified. Police said Sunday that six children between the ages of 2 and 13 are among the dead, and the oldest victim was in their late 60s. The missing family member is a 27-year-old male, Hornung told CNN Sunday. Four family members were rescued Saturday afternoon, said Hornung. They were taken to hospital with hypothermia,  CNN affiliate KNXV reported. KNXV in Phoenix tweeted a photo showing the conditions in the area. The photo showed the grim aftermath of Saturday’s flooding, which left behind an avalanche of mud and rock that flowed into the swimming hole. UAE Not Responsible For Qatari Website Hack

The United Arab Emirates was not responsible for an alleged hack of Qatari websites which helped spark a month-long diplomatic rift with Doha, the UAE’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs said on Monday. Speaking at a forum in London, Anwar Gargash said the UAE would not escalate its boycott by asking companies to choose between doing business with it or with Qatar. Vodafone Qatar, an affiliate of Vodafone Group had said that access to its network was being affected by technical issues. “The company is working to resolve the issue,’’ Vodafone Qatar said on its official Twitter account. Several Vodafone customers told Reuters that they were unable to make or receive phone calls. A spokesman for Vodafone Qatar did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Female Suicide Bomber Attack Northeast Mosque

Eight feared dead on Monday when a female suicide bomber detonated her explosives at a mosque in northeast Nigeria, in the latest attack in the restive region. The blast happened at about 5:30 am (0430 GMT) in the London Ciki area of Maiduguri, which has been at the epicentre of Boko Haram violence since 2009. said  The head of the Borno state emergency management agency, Ahmed Satomi. “She killed eight people and injured 15 others. The mosque was being guarded by civilian JTF (joint task force militia) during prayers,” he told AFP “Unknown to them, the girl was being pursued from another part of town by residents who were suspicious of her movement at the time. “When she approached the mosque, they demanded that she stop to be searched but she suddenly bolted into the mosque and set off her bombs.” Three other female suicide bombers were located in Maiduguri at about the same time, said Satomi.
