UAE And Czech Rep Felicitate With Buhari Following His Victory

Felicitations have continued for President Muhammadu Buhari, following his victory at the recent presidential election. The latest of such congratulatory messages came from President Milos Zeman of Czech Republic on Tuesday. In a congratulatory message, President Zeman said he wished the Nigerian President success in his second term in office, noting that his administration will be for the well-being and prosperity of the Nigerian people. “I highly value the diversity of cooperation and longstanding friendly relations between the Czech Republic and the Federal Republic of Nigeria. I am looking forward to working with Your Excellency in the years ahead to further develop mutual cooperation to the benefit of the people of both our countries, ”the Czech President said. Over 700 Members Of PDP Defect To APC

No fewer than 700 members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Action Democratic Party (ADP), on Tuesday, defected to the All Progressives Congress(APC) in Lagos.  The defectors joined the APC at an elaborate ceremony at the party secretariat in Ikeja. Some of the new entrants into the ruling party include Mrs Mary Dominance, ADP House of Representatives candidate (Apapa) in the Feb.23, elections and Mrs Linda Famoruti, Coordinator, Non-Indigenes group in Lagos PDP.  Others are Alhaji Abass Obesere, a popular Fuji artiste, who defected with members of his Consolidation group in PDP, and Mr Adeniyi Abiola, Coordinator, Articulated Agenda, a support group of the PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. Chelsea Appeal Over FIFA One-Year Ban

Chelsea have appealed against the one-year transfer ban handed to the Premier League giants, FIFA confirmed on Tuesday, but will have to wait to discover whether the ban will be temporarily lifted pending the outcome of the appeal.  Last month the club were issued with a two-window registration ban and fined 600,000 Swiss francs (over £460,000) by FIFA’s disciplinary committee over the recruitment of 29 foreign players aged under 18.  Chelsea immediately said they “categorically refute the findings” but having now appealed, they must await a decision from FIFA’s appeal committee about whether there will be an easing of restrictions ahead of a hearing being convened.  Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona have all been sanctioned for similar offences, but all three managed to delay the ban pending appeal to allow them extra time to prepare. JAMB Schedule Mock Exam To March 23

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB has schedule to Saturday, March 23, 2019 for the conduct of the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) mock exercise. The exam body has therefore advised candidates to begin the printing of their mock examination notification slips from Wednesday, March 6, 2019. You’ll recall that JAMB earlier shifted the date of the mock examination because it coincided with the postponed date of the 2019 presidential and National Assembly election. Also, the 2019 UTME was expected to begin on March 16 and end on March 23 at JAMB’s computer-based test centers nationwide, but the postponement of the general election affected the dates.
