David Moyes Face FA £30,000 Fine For Reporter "Slap Threat"

The England’s Football Association announced, the Former Sunderland manager David Moyes fined £30,000 ($38,000, 34,000 euros), for suggesting to a female reporter that she might “get a slap”, in March. Moyes, made the remark, for which he apologised, to BBC reporter Vicki Sparks following Sunderland’s 0-0 draw with Burnley in the Premier League on March 18. The FA said Moyes’ remarks were “improper and/or threatening and/or brought the game into disrepute”. Moyes was unhappy with one of Sparks' questions and said to her: "You were just getting a wee bit naughty at the end there, so just watch yourself. You still might get a slap even though you're a woman. Careful the next time you come in." Although the interview was over at the time Moyes made his remark, the camera was still running and footage of the incident was published three weeks later by a national newspaper.

The Senate, stopped the N5 charge it earlier proposed for every litre of fuel and diesel, and also suspended further considerations on the National Roads Fund Establishment Bill seeking to effect the charge yesterday. The lawmakers had, a week ago, proposed N5 charge on every litre of Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) and Automobile General Oil (diesel) imported or refined in the country. They said the levy was to be meant for road maintenance. British Prime Minister Face Resign Pressure

The British Prime Minister Theresa May faced pressure to resign on Friday after losing her parliamentary majority, plunging the country into uncertainty as Brexit talks loom. The pound fell sharply amid fears the Conservative leader will be unable to form a government and could even be forced out of office after a troubled campaign overshadowed by two terror attacks. After being re-elected with an increased majority in the London commuter seat of Maidenhead, May said Britain “needs a period of stability” as it prepares for the complicated process of withdrawing from the European Union. She said that while the full results had yet to emerge, her party seemed to have won the most seats and “it would be incumbent on us to ensure we have that period of stability”. But Leftist opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn, whose Labour party surged from 20 points behind, urged May to quit, saying she had “lost votes, lost support and lost confidence”.

Federal Government Need $1.2Billion For NNPC Refineries

The Nigeria Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu said the Federal Government in needs of $1.2 billion to repair three refineries of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). He said this at news conference in Abuja on Thursday, reporting that the Port Harcourt refinery will be conceded to Oando and Agip companies. According to Mr. Kachikwu, the committee established for the purpose of selection had not yet submitted its report. “We have not selected any firm yet even though some firms have shown interests,” he said. “We need about 1.2 billion dollars to repair and bring the three refineries of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) in Port Harcourt, Warri, and Kaduna, up to 100 percent production level.” He added, “The total cumulative amount is in the 1.1 billion dollars and 1.2 billion dollars category between all the refineries.
