Super Falcons suffered yet another defeat

Super Falcons suffered yet another defeat Monday in the Cyprus cup. Falcons who managed to defeat Slovakia 4-3 on Wednesday lost by a loan goal to Belgium in the final group game. The team thus finished third in group C with only three points in three matches. Austria who handed Falcons their first baptism of fire at the event top the group with seven points. Belgium finished second in the group with seven points like Austria but with inferior goal difference. Second African representatives at the event Bayana Bayana finished last in group A after losing their last match 2-1 to Czech Republic. EFCC Detain Atiku Son-in-law Over Allege €150 million Money Laundering

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) said Monday that Alhaji Babalele Abdullahi, the son-in-law of the defeated Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, was being detained over alleged money laundering amounting to €150 million. The Acting Head of Media and Publicity, EFCC, Mr. Tony Orilade, stated this while responding to Newsmen request for information over the arrest of Abdullahi. ‘’Yes, he Babalele is being investigated over alleged case of money laundering. The sum involved is 150 million euros. Investigation is on-going; he is in EFCC. We don’t do our investigation in the media. So, I don’t have details for now; but at the appropriate time we shall speak’’, Orilade stated. Atiku had decried the detention of his son in law and lawyer by the anti-graft commission. APC Suspend Amosun, Okorocha And Others

The All Progressives Congress has said the suspension of Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State and his counterpart in Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, and two others stands. The National Working Committee had after a meeting presided over by the National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, in Abuja on Friday announced their suspension for alleged anti-party activities. The two others are the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Usani Usani and the Director General of Voice of Nigeria, Osita Okechukwu. The NWC at the meeting also resolved to recommend their expulsion to the National Executive Committee of the party. The suspended members had variously claimed that the party had yet to write to inform them of their suspension from the party. FIRS Generate N12.62trn In Last 3Year

The Federal Inland Revenue Service said it generated N12.62 trillion in revenue in the last three years. FIRS said this in a document on its achievements, a copy of which was made available to the  News Agency of Nigeria  by the Head, Communications and Servicom Department of FIRS, Mr Wahab Gbadamosi in Abuja. The breakdown of the amount showed that N3.3 trillion was generated in 2016, N4.02 trillion in 2017 and N5.32 trillion was realised in 2018, making it the highest revenue generated in the last three years. According to the document, the FIRS under the leadership of Babatunde Fowler designed initiatives to ensure a robust tax administration that is beneficial to all stakeholders. The organisation said non-oil tax revenue increased to N2.149 trillion in 2016, N2.5 trillion in 2017 and N2.852 trillion in 2018.
