NSA Cognizant of the $43.4 million At Osborne Tower

Presidential Investigative Committee members explores deeply the recovery of $43.4million at Osborne Towers in Ikoyi, round the table yesterday for more than 11 hours in Lagos. Committee examined documents and interrogated some officials at the marathon session. Grilled were the suspended Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Amb. Ayo Oke, and some top officials of the agency. One of the highlights of the session was when the suspended NIA DG told the panel that he wrote a memo to the National Security Adviser (NSA) on the custody of the $43.4million for covert operations. A source said the DG maintained his stand that he informed the NSA, Maj.-Gen. Babagana Monguno, who is a member of the committee, about the money. Oke was said to have told the committee about the covert operations and projects executed by the agency. The Nigeria Senate president, Bukola Saraki, said yesterday that the legislative chamber of the National Assembly will begin on restructuring Nigeria’s education system through legal framework to make Nigeria Education more competitive both locally and internationally. According to Saraki, the new legislative framework will enhace more autonomy for the education system. He also said that with the present economic recession in Nigeria, interventions in the nation’s educational system must no longer be business as usual. The Senate president, who stated this in a statement signed by Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yusuph Olaniyonu, said there was the urgent need for comprehensive education reform across all levels to ensure that Nigerian students and schools were competitive globally. Abiodun Joseph yahooboy claim to be the Ooni of Ife , Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi and duped two Nigerian ladies of different amount on Facebook, has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command . The bearded suspect was said to have been arrested on Wednesday , April 19 , 2017 , at Ilese , in the Ijebu North East Local Government Area . Joseph was paraded alongside three armed robbers and kidnappers at the state command headquarters , Eleweran , Abeokuta, on Monday . The suspect had allegedly duped the ladies , who were based in the United States of America , to the tune of N600 , 000 , which was paid through money transfer . While parading the suspects , the state Commissioner of Police , Ahmed Iliyasu, said Joseph had been using his Facebook and Whatsapp accounts to dupe unsuspecting members of the public .
