Update: Oyo PDP Candidate Mr Seyi Makinde Record 27 In 33LGAs In OYO State

Mr Seyi Makinde   The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Seyi Makinde, is on course to win the Oyo State governorship election as he recorded 27 in 33LGAs in the state. Although he has not been officially declared as winner, and with one local government, Ibadan South West, still awaited, the PDP candidate has won 27 out of the 32 local government areas declared so far. Mr Makinde has so far received a total of 481,177 votes from the local government declared while the All progressives Congress candidate, Bayo Adelabu, received 331,799 votes. The returning officer and other INEC officials have gone on a short break while awaiting the arrival of the Ibadan South West results .

Sanwo-Olu Wins All Lagos State 20 Local Governments To Defeat Jimi Agbaje

Babajide Sanwo-Olu The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State Babajide Sanwo-Olu has won in all the 20 local government areas in the state. The results were announced this afternoon at the INEC office in Yaba. Although the Independent National Electoral Commission has not officially declared Sanwo-Olu as the winner of the election, but APC defeated the People’s Democratic Party by as much as 533,300 votes. Sanwo-Olu polled 739,445 against Agbaje’s 206,141.

None of the 157 Passengers Fear Dead In Ethiopian Airline Clashon Sunday morning en route to Nairobi  from Addis Ababa  have survived, the airline said. The aircraft, a Boeing 737 MAX 8 carrying 149 passengers and eight crew members, took off at 08:38am  (05:38 GMT) and lo st contact with air traffic controllers six minutes later. It crashed near Bishoftu, southeast of the Ethiopian capital, Ethiopian Airlines said in a statement. It was not immediately clear what caused the crash of the plane, which was new and had been delivered to the airline in November. The pilot, who had been working for the carrier since 2010, sent out a distress call shortly after take-off and was given clearance to return.

Election: APM Reject INEC Governorship Election Result In OGUN State

The Allied Peoples Movement has rejected the ongoing election results being announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission. The APM Campaign Director General, Sarafa Ishola, said this on Sunday at the party’s secretariat at Leme, Abeokuta. Ishola said the election began peacefully on Saturday, but was allegedly hijacked by hoodlums and “unidentified uniformed men” during the collation stage. He said the results of the election were manipulated in favour of APC. He said the APM had petitioned INEC in the state to investigate the “infractions” and stop announcement of results forthwith. The DG expressed concern that, despite the complaints, the INEC has started announcing the results. Ishola said the APM rejects the results as being announced, declaring that “it was hijacked, compromised and did not reflect the wishes of Ogun people.”

Mr Seyi Makinde As the final collation of results across the local governments is ongoing, the Oyo state chapter of the ruling All Progressive Congress has submitted a petition against the Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate Seyi Makinde to the electoral umpire, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The APC petition accused Makinde of what it described as “breach of electoral laws” and thereby demanded for his immediate arrest and prosecution. The petition addressed to the Oyo State Resident Electoral Commissioner and entitled  “Petition Against Engr. Seyi Makinde on Electoral offences committed in breach of electoral laws “ , was submitted to the Agodi office of the commission on Sunday. Update: APC Won All The Local Government In Kwara To Beat PDP

The Kwara State All Progressives Congress governorship candidate, Mr. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, has won the governorship election held on Saturday. He polled 331,546 votes to emerge as the winner of the highly anticipated election His Peoples Democratic Party counterpart, Mr. Abdulrazaq Atunwa, polled 114,754 votes to emerge as the runner-up in the election. From the official results declared in all the 16 local government areas in the state, Abdulrazaq led Atunwa with a margin of 216,792 votes. Notably, the APC beat the PDP in all the local government areas.

Update: Chief Adelabu And His Running Mate Lost Thier Local Government

Chief Adebayo Adelabu Chief Adebayo Adelabu, the APC governorship candidate in Oyo State and his running mate, Samuel Egunjobi lost their local governments to the PDP in the March 9 governorship election. Newsmen report that Adelabu lost in Ibadan South- East while Egunjobi did so in  Iwajowa Local Government Area. Mr Abiodun Olapade, an Associate Professor from the University of Ibadan and the Returning Officer for Ibadan South East announced that Adelabu polled 13, 277 as against PDP’s 24, 556 votes.  Similarly, Mr Bashir Awodoyin, Associate Professor, who is the Returning Officer for Iwajowa Local Government announced that APC polled 8, 459 as against PDP’s 9,358 votes.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Nollywood star, Desmond Elliot, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as winner of the Surulere1 state Constituency election in Lagos State. The State Constituency Returning Officer, Dr Bolajoko Dixon-Ogbechi from the University of Lagos, made the declaration on Sunday, at the Surulere Local Government Collation Centre in Lagos. She said that Elliot emerged winner with 15,357 votes, while Mr Benjamin Olasunkanmi, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) came second with 3,628 votes. She declared: ”That Desmond Olusola Elliot of APC having satisfied the requirements of the law and scored the highest number of votes is hereby declared winner and is returned elected. ”

INEC Announce Two Lagos House Of Assembly Seat In Badagry

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced two APC candidates as winner of the House of Assembly seats in Badagry. INEC declared the All Progressives Congress (APC) as winner of the two Lagos State House of Assembly seats of Saturday’s elections in Badagry. The News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, reports that David Setonji, the incumbent APC lawmaker, was declared winner of the Badagry Constituency 2, while Ibrahim Layode also of APC was re-elected for the Badagry Constituency 1. Declaring the election results at the INEC Collation Centre in Ibereko, the Returning Officer for Badagry Constituency 1, Mrs. Bosede Abiodun, announced that Setonji polled 14,533 votes to beat PDP’s Alani Ajose, who scored 5,209 votes. Also, Mr. Kareem Bestoyin, Dept. of Social Science, University of Lagos and the Returning Officer of Badagry Constituency 1, declared Ibrahim Layode of APC as winner. 12 die In Colombia Plane Clash

A plane crash in Colombia on Saturday left all 12 people on board dead, according to Colombia's Civil Defense. The flight was traveling between San Jose del Guaviare and Villavicencio, the Civil Defense said. The plane called in the emergency at 10:40 a.m., according to Colombia's Civil Aviation Authority. The plane was found in La Bendición, near Villavicencio. Authorities are working to identify the passengers. There is no publicly known cause for the crash at this time. Colombia's Civil Aviation Aviation released a statement of condolence for those who died in the crash.

Five-month-old Boy Suffer Heart Defect Needs N3.5m For Surgery

Parents of a five-month-old boy have cried out to Nigerians for financial assistance to enable them to pay for the cost of a surgery that is required to correct his heart defect. The boys’ parents, Oluwole Nasiru and Rachael Nasiru, who brought the baby (David Nasiru) to The PUNCH Place, the corporate headquarters of PUNCH on Thursday, told our correspondent that they would need between N3m and N3.5m to facilitate heart surgery for the boy. The father, who works in a hospitality firm, and the 39-year-old mother, a petty trader, said David was diagnosed and found to have symptomatic congenital heart disease. The diagnosis, they said, was carried out at the Paediatric Cardiology Unit of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital in January this year. He said the family had been looking for help to enable the boy to undergo the surgery. INEC Declare Hon Ademorin Kuye As The Winner Of Somolu House Of Rep

The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Mr Ademorin Kuye as winner of Saturday’s House of Representatives election in Somolu Federal Constituency. The Returning Officer, Prof. Ola Aluko of the Urban and Regional Planning Department, University of Lagos announced the result at the INEC collation centre in Somolu on Sunday. Aluko said Kuye polled 28, 722 to defeat his closest rival, Mr Oluwaseyi Olowu, of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who gathered 25,202. “I hereby declare Kuye of APC, having satisfied the requirements of law and scored the highest number of votes, as the winner and he is returned elected.”

Gunmen Kill Policeman And Abducted Three INEC Staffs

Authorities in Katsina state has confirm that gunmen killed one policeman and abducted three INEC staff in the state on Saturday, March 9. The police command Katsina confirmed the killing of its officer alongside a Civil Defence operative and the abduction of three INEC Ad-hoc personnel in Danmusa LGA of the state. A spokesman for the command, SP Gambo Isah in a statement confirmed that today at about 2pm, a patrol team on electoral duties along Gobirawa Falale – Maidabino Feeder road in Danmusa, was ambushed by armed political thugs. Gambo noted in his statement that the thugs were led by one Mani Doro, ‘m’, aged 40yrs.
