UEFA Charge Cristiano Ronaldo For Celebration

Image
Ronaldo! "Cojones celebration" Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo has been charged with improper conduct by Uefa for his celebration after beating Atletico Madrid to reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League. European football's governing body UEFA charged Ronaldo with "improper conduct" after his "cojones" celebration in Juventus' 3-0 win against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Monday.  After completing his hat trick, Ronaldo appeared to mimic Atletico manager Diego Simeone, who had celebrated a goal by grabbing his crotch in the first leg of the tie. However, Simeone avoided a touchline ban for his actions and escaped with a 20,000 euros ($22,700) fine.  UEFA said the Ronaldo's case will be dealt with by its Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body at its next meeting. Ronaldo could face a ban from his side's Champions League semi final first leg against Ajax.

The Argentine hit a stunning hat-trick and the Uruguayan netted the other as Ernesto Valverde’s side made light of a potentially tricky trip to Seville. Barca had lost their home game to Betis 4-3 earlier on this season and Quique Setien’s side competed well early in the game and Sergi Roberto made a goal-saving tackle from Cristian Tello in the opening minutes. With the 4-4-2 formation in the absence of the injured Ousmane Dembele, Suarez and Messi were able punished their hosts, who beat them 4-3 at the Nou Camp in November, with a lightning-quick move.  Suarez found his forward partner with a back-heeled  through-ball, that beat three Betis players, which was then turned in by the Argentine. The Uruguay veteran striker Suarez scored a fine individual effort while Lo...

It comes as ministers continue efforts to win the backing of the DUP, and more Tory Brexiteers indicate they may be prepared to reluctantly vote for Mrs May's deal next week. Writing in the Sunday Telegraph, the prime minister called on politicians to look beyond the categories of Leave and Remain and "resolve this question now". "The time to define ourselves by how we voted in 2016 must end now. We can only put those old labels aside if we stand together as democrats and patriots, pragmatically making the honourable compromises necessary to heal division and move forward," she wrote.
