Appreciation Speech By President Buhari To Nigerians

My Dear Nigerians,  First and foremost, I give thanks to Almighty God Who has spared our lives to witness another victory for Nigerian democracy and victory for our party APC 2. I thank the millions of Nigerians who voted to re-elect me as your president for the next four years. I am deeply humbled and profoundly grateful to you for judging me worthy of continuing to serve you and for your peaceful conduct.  3. In particular, I would like to thank Asiwaju Bola Tinubu for his masterful leadership as Co-chair of the Campaign Council. I would like to also thank the Party Chairman Adams Oshiomhole, the Director General of the Campaign Council Rotimi Amaechi, all members of the Presidential Campaign Council and other various Support Groups.  4. Update: Imo Women Protest Over Controversial Declaration Of Okorocha As West Senator

Hundreds of Imo women are now heading to 34 Artillery Brigade, Obinze, to protest against what they described as the involvement of the Army in the controversial declaration of governor Rochas Okorocha, as Imo west senator-elect. Vanguard has observed that the women are from the 12 local government areas of Imo west senatorial district.  Recall, the returning officer, for Imo West senatorial district, Innocent Ibeawuchi, who declared Okorocha winner said that he did it under duress, adding that he was given an hour to declare Okorocha winner.

Atiku Abubakar Reject INEC Presidential Result

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, has rejected the outcome of the February 23 presidential election by INEC. He said the election was not free, fair and that it was full of many irregularities. The former Vice President, therefore, said that he would challenge the outcome in court. The Peoples Democratic Party candidate Atiku, said in a statement early Wednesday morning, that if he had lost in a free and fair election, he would have called the winner, President Muhammadu Buhari within seconds of his being aware of the outcome of the exercise. President Muhammadu Buhari President Muhammadu Buhari has won his re-election bid as he polled 15,191,847 votes to defeat his closest rival, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party in the presidential poll conducted on February 23. Atiku polled 11,262,978 to lose the election with a margin of 3,928,869 votes. This is according to the Independent National Electoral Commission’s collated figure of votes from all the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory released on Wednesday morning. Though INEC has not formally declared Buhari as the winner as of the time of writing this report, the President has met all the requirements the constitution requires a candidate to meet before such could be declared the winner. According to the constitution, a presidential candidate must have nothing less than 25 per cent of votes cast in at least two-thirds or 24 states of the federation. Just In: INEC Set To Announce Buhari After Triumph Over Atiku

The Independent National Electoral Commission is set to announce President Muhammadu Buhari president-elect, following the collation of results of the 23 February election. President Buhari crossed the 15 million mark in votes scored in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. He polled 15,191,847 votes, winning in 19 of the states, and h is main challenger Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party scored 10,782, 007 votes and won 17 states and Abuja. Buhari also satisfied the constitutional requirement of making 25 per cent in 34 states and the FCT. He missed the cut in Enugu and Anambra states. In 2015, Buhari scored 15, 424,921 votes to beat the PDP incumbent Goodluck Jonathan who scored 12,853,162 votes. It means Abubakar performed worse than Jonathan.
