American Actor Adam West, best known for playing Batman has died at the age of 88 in Los Angeles on Friday night following a short battle with leukemia. He died peacefully, and surrounded by family who paid tribute to him in a statement, saying: ‘Our dad always saw himself as The Bright Knight, and aspired to make a positive impact on his fans’ lives. “He was and always will be our hero.” Adam West (1928-2017) Adam found fame when he started as Batman in the CBS show which ran from 1966-1968, winning the role after the series producer saw him playing a James Bond-esque character, Captain Quik, in a Nesquik commercial.
