Nigeria Is 5th In Africa Insurance Market

"Nigeria is 5th biggest insurance market in Africa with overall market share of 85 percent of premium. General-Secretary of the African Insurance Organization (AIO)" Ms Prisca Soares said while addressing a press conference after the launching of the second Africa Insurance Barometer at the 44th AIO Conference and General Assembly in Kampala, Uganda that insurance market in the continent was still dominated by South Africa. The other major markets, she mentioned, include Morocco, Egypt, Kenya and Nigeria while the top five markets account for 85 percent of the total premiums. The veteran player  Aaron Ramsey sealed the record-breaking FA Cup triumph for Gunners. Meanwhile Victor Moses was sent off after being shown two yellow card for diving, which left the Chelsea fans in uproar as they felt the Nigerian should have instead been handed a penalty against Arsenal. Delegates Vent Over Local Government Primaries Election Imposement

There was a peace obstructing at the All Progressives Congress primaries for local government elections in Lagos yesterday as some of the delegates were obstreperous over what they described as an attempt to impose candidates on them. According to  Channels TV  trouble erupted after 18 candidates were returned unopposed and a voice vote was called to choose the remaining candidates for the council poll, which is slated for July the 22, 2017. Some of the delegates who were opposed to the use of voice vote protested the process, which they believe would lead to the imposition of candidates. They threw caution to the wind as delegates upturned tables, threw away ballot boxes and other materials meant for the election at the Teslim Balogun Stadium.

FUTA Council Request For Reinstallation Of Prof Daramola As VC

The Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) governing council requested for the re installation of the outgoing Vice Chancellor, Professor Adebiyi Daramola. Prof Daramola, who was suspended earlier this month, was contained in a statement signed by the Head of Information and Protocol Unit of the institution, Mr. Adegbenro Adebanjo quoting the decision of the Governing Council. “The Council at its meeting of Thursday May 18, 2017 presided over by its chairman, Senator Joseph Waku said Daramola should return to office and complete his term which ends on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 “, he said. River State Desist 1866 Illicit Private School In The State

The River State government desist the operations of 1866 private schools which the government termed as felonious across the 23 local government areas in the state. The state Commissioner for Education, Kaniyu Ebuku, make it official in a statement said the state governor, Nyesom Wike directed all illicit, schools to stop all activities with immediate effect from September 1, 2017 stressing that the plans would be strictly enforced by the Ministry of Education. He said names of affected schools had been published in a local paper and advised parents to refer to the newspaper for further information. Rivers State is replete with thousands of private schools of different levels and varying standards ranging from the absurd through the mushroom to the top notch and international standards with a high percentage of them not having the relevant government approvals.
