The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Akwa Ibom, Mr Nsima Ekere has expressed optimism that President Muhammadu Buhari would win the 10 federal constituencies of the state.


The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Akwa Ibom, Mr Nsima Ekere has expressed optimism that President Muhammadu Buhari would win the 10 federal constituencies of the state.



According to him the reports from other polling units across the state indicated that the exercise was peaceful. He said the APC had campaigned extensively across the state which explained the massive turnout of voters to vote for President Buhari and candidates in the National Assembly elections. 



However, Ekere slammed chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state for hiring thugs to cause mayhem. Minister for Budget and National Planning, Sen Udoma Udo Udoma, said that Buhari would win today”s election.

Armed thugs invaded Ogbomoso polling unit at Oke Ola Farm Settlement, Unit Four of Ogbomoso South Local Government Area of Oyo State, and carted away thumb-printed ballot papers in all the units in the area. Olamide Adewale, who made a distress call said, “Hoodlums armed to the teeth just invaded unit 4A in Oke Ola farm settlement here in Ogbomoso South local government and forcefully ferried away all the ballot boxes en route Ogbomoso/Oyo road. They went in Oyo direction,” he said. Reports also revealed that the ballot boxes at Ward 3 Unit 3 in Ibadan Northwest were snatched in the presence of security agents around 2pm.
