Australia Cricket Star Steve Smith Receive 9months Ban

Former Australia captain Steve Smith and opener David Warner have been banned from cricket for a year following the ball-tampering scandal.

Cricket Australia made the announcement on Wednesday, adding that batsman Cameron Bancroft had been banned for nine months.
The trio were sent home after cheating was exposed in the third Test in South Africa.
Smith and Bancroft admitted that, after a discussion during a break in play, they decided they would try to change the condition of the ball using a piece of yellow adhesive tape and some dirt collected from the side of the pitch.
Bancroft was tasked to do the on-field tampering but botched it as TV cameras captured the stunt - and his subsequent attempt to hide the tape in his trousers.
All three were charged with breaching the code of conduct and bringing the game into disrepute.

Thugs Invade Ogbomoso Polling Unit

Armed thugs invaded Ogbomoso polling unit at Oke Ola Farm Settlement, Unit Four of Ogbomoso South Local Government Area of Oyo State, and carted away thumb-printed ballot papers in all the units in the area. Olamide Adewale, who made a distress call said, “Hoodlums armed to the teeth just invaded unit 4A in Oke Ola farm settlement here in Ogbomoso South local government and forcefully ferried away all the ballot boxes en route Ogbomoso/Oyo road. They went in Oyo direction,” he said. Reports also revealed that the ballot boxes at Ward 3 Unit 3 in Ibadan Northwest were snatched in the presence of security agents around 2pm.
