31Days Of Election LASIEC Withheld Ad-Hoc Staff Payment

The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) yet to pay the Ad-Hoc staff who were hired for the Local Government Election which held on July 22nd in the 20 Local Governments and 37 Local Council Development Areas of the state.

Exactly 31 days of conducting the election,the Electoral Commission has failed in his promise to pay its staff allowances and bonus between the range of 15,ooo naira and 50,000 naira.


According to Mr. Babatunde Awofeso, who dispatch his duty as Poll Official in the election at Somolu spoke with Ayeiroyin furiously, deplored that the electoral commission do not give any cogent reason for withholding their wages after a peace and credible election.



“Today mark 31 days after election, no one heard from the commission since the conduct of the elections and none of LASIEC official give us tangible response to this" 



"We all appeal to the State Governor, His Excellency Mr. Akinwumi Ambode to please come to our aim and make swift changes about the payment process  because the Ad-Hoc has discharge their duties effectively, so is left for the government to fulfill theirs" he added.

Thugs Invade Ogbomoso Polling Unit

Armed thugs invaded Ogbomoso polling unit at Oke Ola Farm Settlement, Unit Four of Ogbomoso South Local Government Area of Oyo State, and carted away thumb-printed ballot papers in all the units in the area. Olamide Adewale, who made a distress call said, “Hoodlums armed to the teeth just invaded unit 4A in Oke Ola farm settlement here in Ogbomoso South local government and forcefully ferried away all the ballot boxes en route Ogbomoso/Oyo road. They went in Oyo direction,” he said. Reports also revealed that the ballot boxes at Ward 3 Unit 3 in Ibadan Northwest were snatched in the presence of security agents around 2pm.
