“We Know They Are Not Ready, But They Are Ready To Rig The Election. Says PDP Chairman

“We know they are not ready, but they are ready to rig the election. They just want to sit down somewhere and write the results and we are also planning how to counter that. We are very, very ready to win that election.
The party Chairman, Chief Segun Adewale, who addressed journalists at the PDP secretariat at Sogunle, Ikeja alongside the secretary, Mr Jide Ladeinde, affirmed that the PDP was very ready for the council election, saying that it was very obvious that the APC was not so ready.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Lagos chapter has insisted that the upcoming local government election holding on Jul 22, 2017 in all the 20 local governments and 37 local council development areas (LCDAs) in the state must come up, saying the exercise must not be postponed irrespective of the intra crisis within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Aggrieved APC aspirants to the councillorship and chairmanship posts together with their supporters across the state are currently spoiling for war, and organising protests, among others, alleging imposition by leadership, with the party yet to roll out final list of its candidates for the election.

According to Adewale, the APC is only waiting to sit somewhere and write the result of the election in its own favour, contending that the ruling party should not even be allowed to participate in the poll in a sane society, giving the fact that it currently does not its candidates’ list ready because it never held any primary.
“When you look around the states, you see our posters, you see our banners, and our candidates are campaigning everywhere, we are ready.

Armed thugs invaded Ogbomoso polling unit at Oke Ola Farm Settlement, Unit Four of Ogbomoso South Local Government Area of Oyo State, and carted away thumb-printed ballot papers in all the units in the area. Olamide Adewale, who made a distress call said, “Hoodlums armed to the teeth just invaded unit 4A in Oke Ola farm settlement here in Ogbomoso South local government and forcefully ferried away all the ballot boxes en route Ogbomoso/Oyo road. They went in Oyo direction,” he said. Reports also revealed that the ballot boxes at Ward 3 Unit 3 in Ibadan Northwest were snatched in the presence of security agents around 2pm.
