Liverpool Set To Sign Wolverhampton Striker

Liverpool are set to sign Wolves striker Diogo Jota in a deal potentially worth in excess of £35million. The Reds have moved swiftly in the pursuit of the Portugal forward, after sealing a deal to sign Thiago Alcantara from Bayern Munich. Liverpool hope to complete the deal on Friday night, although there is no rush to get the deal over the line as he won't be able to play against Chelsea on Sunday. Jota, who joined wolves from Atletico Madrid three years ago, was left out of Wanderers' starting lineup in their Premier League opener against Sheffield United.

“FG” Permits Only Federal Schools To Resume

During the PTF briefing in Abuja yesterday being 17th September, 2020. it was annouced that Federal Institutions can resume if only they get permission from the National Universities Commission (NUC). This declaration comes 14 days after the taskforce has declared that schools can resume on Thursday September 3rd, 2020. However, the presidential task force(PTF) stated that State Government can direct chance appraisal to permit all schools in there respective state to reopen, Through following the measures to curtail the spread of the virus and ensure there are procedures on ground to monitor and control the situation before reopening schools. Twenty-three days to the governorship election in Ondo State, one of the aides of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, on Friday, resigned his appointment to team up with the state deputy governor, Mr Agboola Ajayi, ahead of the election. The aide, Mr Andrew Ogunsakin, resigned his appointment as the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Political (South). In a letter addressed to the office of the governor, dated September 18, 2020, he indicated his interest in joining his people to work for another party in the forthcoming election.

Bale arrives at Tottenham

Gareth Bale has arrived at Tottenham’s training ground after flying from Spain to complete his move back to the club from Real Madrid. Bale completed a medical in Madrid on Thursday as he closes on a deal that will see him return to the club he left in a world-record £86m transfer seven years ago. The Wales captain travelled to London Luton Airport accompanied on a private flight by Real Madrid team-mate Sergio Reguilon, who is set to join Spurs on a five-year deal for a fee that could rise to £32m after also completing a medical on Thursday. President Buhari Award PHD scholarship For Students

The President, Muhammadu Buhari, on  Monday awarded scholarship to three secondary school students who emerged winners at the 2020 Young Nigerian Scientists Presidential Award Competition. Scholarship which fund their education up to the Doctor of Philosophy in science disciplines of their choice in Nigerian universities. Man City Slam 2years Ban From Champions League

Manchester City have been banned from all UEFA competitions for the next two seasons and fined £24.9m for "serious breaches" of UEFA's Financial Fair Play and club licensing regulations. An Adjudicatory Chamber of the Club Financial Control Body (CFCB) found the Premier League champions guilty of serious breaches of the UEFA Club Licensing and Financial Fair Play Regulations. In a statement, UEFA said City "overstated its sponsorship revenue in its accounts and in the break-even information submitted to UEFA between 2012 and 2016". The club were also found guilty of "failing to cooperate in the investigation by the CFCB" and will be banned from Europe in the 2020/21 and 2021/22 seasons. Man City to take case to CAS Man City say they are "disappointed but not surprised" by the verdict, describing the process as "prejudicial", and will take the case to Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Fire Outbreak At Obasanjo Residence

A fire has gutted a house belonging to former President Olusegun Obasanjo . The fire which reportedly broke out on Wednesday night wreaked havoc on the building situated at the Ita-Eko area of Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital. Witnesses say the fire was caused by a power surge. A source told our correspondent that a spark that went off after power supply was restored to the building was the cause of the fire. Residents trooped out to assist the domestic workers in the house to put out the fire. The extent of damage to the building has not been confirmed as cameras were not allowed in and around the vicinity. However, there are reports that the fire only razed a store and not the main building in the former president’s compound.
