Alake and Olota Tension is mounting in several areas of Ogun State as two of the prominent monarchs in the region trade verbal tirade over claims and counterclaims of sovereignty over several disputed towns.  The Alake of Egbaland oba Michael Adedotun Gbadebo is facing off against the Olota of Ota in Aworiland oba Adeyemi Abdulkabir Obalanlege. The bone of contention revolves around who gets the historical, customary and legal royal authority over the Awori towns of Sango-Ota, Atan-Ota, Ijoko-Ota, Abúlé Ore-Ota, Adekoyeni-Ota and the Gbalefa-Ota peninsula. The Alake, claiming paramount over these towns and other Awori areas, is said to have installed new kings to head the towns, drawing the ire of the Olota who claims that he remains the royal authority in charge of the area. Five persons, including a couple, died in a road accident in Abuja on Sunday as sixth person, who was seriously injured in the incident which occurred at about 8 a.m. near Setraco Junction along Kubwa Expressway, was rushed to the hospital. According to an official of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr Emmanuel Agbo, the incident occurred when a Toyota Camry car coming from Kubwa area to Abuja city centre was hit by a trailer. Agbo told News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) at the scene of the incident, that the impact of the contact with the trailer, which was travelling in the same direction, forced the car, with six passengers, off the road. “The impact forced the car, with registration number ABC 978 SL, to crash onto a concrete pillar of a bridge across the highway. “Five persons in the car, including a couple, died on the spot. Super Eagles captain, John Mikel Obi on Saturday emerged the Man of the Match in Nigeria’s 0-0 draw with Zimbabwe in an international friendly match played at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba . Speaking at the pre-launch of the factory belonging to Longrich, a Chinese firm,  Ambode said  the facility was another success story of the efforts of the state government in attracting investment, as well as an eloquent confirmation of the strategic importance of the free trade zone to the State’s economy. Mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Conor McGregor said on Tuesday he was retiring from the sport, five months after losing to Khabib Nurmagomedov in a controversial title fight. The fight which was held in Las Vegas had sparked a brawl which led to a six-month ban. The 30-year-old, who has a record of 21 wins and four defeats, is still suspended by the Nevada State Athletic Commission for his part in the melee. The incident had broken out after his bout with the Russian last October. This marks the second time McGregor has announced on Twitter that he has “retired”. The University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) will on Saturday graduate 9,452 students with 106 of them bagging First Class degrees. The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ndowa Lale, said this at a news conference yesterday in Port Harcourt as part of programme to mark the 32nd Convocation Ceremony of the institution. Lale said the conferment of degrees, higher degrees, diploma, certificates and prizes would hold at the university on Friday and Saturday. According to him, the convocation was mainly for students who finished their academic programmes for the 2016/2017 and 2017/2018 academic sessions. “Out of the figure, 106 graduands will receive the First Class Honours,  1,799 Second Class Upper Division,  2,533 Second Class Lower Division while 132 will receive Third Class degrees.
