Finance Minister suspend Director-General Of The Securities And Exchange Commission

The Minister of Finance, Mrs Kemi Adeosun on Wednesday announced the suspension of the Director-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission, Mr. Mounir Gwarzo, over an allegation of financial impropriety levelled against him. Also suspended are two management staff of the Commission.  Head of Media Division, Mr. Abdulsalam Naif, and Head of Legal Department Mrs. Anastasia Braimoh.

ASUP Suspend Its 15day Nationwide Strike

The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) has suspended its 15-day nationwide strike with effect from Wednesday, November 29. President of ASUP, Usman Yusuf Dutse, announce this at  its 14 National Delegates Conference in Bauchi, co-hosted by the Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi and the Tatari Ali Polytechnic, Bauchi while holding press conference. The ASUP boss, stated the issues that led to their action to include non- implementation of the report of the needs assessment survey of polytechnics, sustained shortfall in personnel releases and withdrawal of their allowances since December, 2015, and non-payment of promotion arrears And also disclosed other factors includes non-implementation of staff salaries in some state owned polytechnics, infractions in the appointment process of rectors of polytechnics, non-release of CONTISS 15 migration arrears, non-passage of amendment bill of the polytechnic act and continued victimisation of officers of the union. The American singer and songwriter,  Beyonce’s album “Lemonade” and world tour made her the highest-paid woman in music in 2017 According to an annual Forbes list on Monday. The Pop Diva edged out Britain’s Adele and pop star Taylor Swift to  earned 105 million dollars from record sales and from her “Formation” concert tour. Forbes stated that Beyonce also has her own Ivy Park fashion line and other business interests.  Adele, whose “25” album broke first-week U.S. sales records in 2015 and who completed her first major tour since 2011, made second place with an estimated 69 million dollars, despite having no major endorsements for other products.

The Kaduna State Commissioner for Education, Prof. Jonathan Andrew Nok, is dead. He was born on 11 February 1962 and hailed from Nok Village in Jaba Local Government Area of Kaduna State. Until his appointment as the Commissioner of Health and Human Services; and later Commissioner for Education by Governor Nasir el-Rufai, Nok (MFR), was a professor of Biochemistry at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

Nigeria Fail To Achieve Intensive Economic Growth " Says Former CBN Governor

Former Central Bank Deputy Governor and Founder, Institute for Governance and Economic Transformation (IGET), Professor Chiedu Moghalu, has called for setting of national ambition for Nigeria, with leaders who can execute a sustainable vision for the country to transform the economic structure and the lives of citizens. Moghalo explained this at the 5th Goddy Jidenma Foundation Public Lecture held at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, Victoria Island, Lagos. Joining other influential leaders, emphasized that Nigerians should stop underestimating the sheer scale of the challenge to the country’s economic growth. According to Prof Moghalo “Nigeria has failed to achieve intensive and effective economic growth because the country’s economy is managed mostly on an ad-hoc, reactive basis.  It is a ‘survival’ economy in which most governments have had no real economic vision or a strategy to execute such a vision successfully .
