NYSC Will Begin Posting To Farms. says Brig-Gen Suleiman Kazaure

The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC),  Brig-Gen. Suleiman Kazaure promulgate on  Monday that the scheme will begin posting of  corps to farms.  He announce this in an interview with newsmen during his official visit to the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Sagamu, Ogun.  According to him, the move to deploy corps members to farms  was in line with  the agricultural development programme of the NYSC.  The NYSC has concluded preparations to begin the posting at the conclusion of the three-week orientation exercise. Tiger who was 14-time major golf champion was booked into the Palm Beach County detention on Monday after he was arrested by police in Jupiter, Florida.

Management Close Down University of Ibadan

The University of Ibadan management on Monday close the institution and directed the students to vacate the campus. According to  News Agency of Nigeria  report, the students were obstreperous at streets of Ibadan protesting, alleging insensitivity on the part of the university management. Meanwhile, the university’s Director of Communications and Publication, Olatunji Oladejo said that the closure of the institution became necessary in order to avert crisis. He said the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Idowu Olayinka, had convened an emergency meeting of the university Senate to review the circumstances surrounding the development.

The Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC) president in Bayelsa State, Mr Chinedu Arthur-Ugwa, at the weekend criticize the ‘divide and rule’ tactics deployed by Igbo indigenes appointed as Special Advisers to Governor Seriake Dickson. The president, who spoke in Yenagoa, said the practice of bypassing duly elected leaders of Igbo people in the state, when major decisions affecting the Igbo people in the state are to be taken, is condemnable. Nigeria Is 5th In Africa Insurance Market

"Nigeria is 5th biggest insurance market in Africa with overall market share of 85 percent of premium. General-Secretary of the African Insurance Organization (AIO)" Ms Prisca Soares said while addressing a press conference after the launching of the second Africa Insurance Barometer at the 44th AIO Conference and General Assembly in Kampala, Uganda that insurance market in the continent was still dominated by South Africa. The other major markets, she mentioned, include Morocco, Egypt, Kenya and Nigeria while the top five markets account for 85 percent of the total premiums.
