Ekiti State Government Set N1.9Billion Aside For New Government Office

The Ekiti State Government had set aside N1.9 billion for the construction of a new governors’ office and high court complex in Ado-Ekiti on Thursday. The Commissioner for Works and Transportation, Mrs Funmi Ogun, announce this during an open bidding for the two projects in Ado-Ekiti.  The Commissioner describe the projects as part of plans to the state a facelift in terms of infrastructure development. Ogun added that when completed, both projects would add to the existing legacy projects of the present administration in the state. According to her, the consultants’ proposed bill for the construction of the new governor’s office is N687, 028, 630.63 million while that of the High Court Complex is N1, 299, 613, 897.60. NCC Enforce Action On Glo

Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has begun the enforcement action on Globacom for not adhere to the 10 per cent threshold for inter-connect traffic by telecom companies. Compliance Monitoring and Enforcement Report made available to the News Agency of Nigeria.  It said the NCC monitored compliance of the telecommunication company with regards to the commission’s directive on routing of a minimum of 10 per cent of interconnect traffic through interconnect exchange licensees.  The report said pursuant to Section 53 (1) of the Nigerian Communications Act 2003, NCC issued a direction in April 2009.  According to the report, the directive mandated all operators to route a minimum of 10 per cent of their inter-operator traffic through licensed Interconnect Exchange Operators in locations where they have point of presence (POP) across the country.

Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has strike on PDP for asking President Buhari to quit, calling the former ruling party a shameless irritant which is bent on distracting the government from its rescue mission and returning the country to ''Egypt''. Kebbi State Government Remove 17 Sole Administrators

Kebbi State Governor Abubakar Bagudu has announced the removal of 17 Local Government Sole Administrators in the state. Governor told newsmen shortly after a meeting with the local councils’ officials on Thursday in Birnin Kebbi, that four sole administrators would however, retain their seats. He says that those who were removed had completed the one year tenure approved for them by the State House of Assembly. Abubakar Bagudu added that the sole administrators were initially appointed to serve for a period of three months, which was later extended by the Assembly after a request by the executive. Bagudu thanked the officials for serving the state and said the government would utilise their experiences as appropriate.

PDP Ask Buhari To Leave His Office To Allow Competent Party

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to leave his office and allow competent party to steer the country away from the present economic recession. The spokesman of the PDP, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, on Wednesday said the crass ineptitude and lukewarm-attitude of the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration could no longer be tolerated. “Therefore, we are calling on President Buhari and his team to return Nigeria to its state of booming economy before they assumed office in May, 2015, and then quit immediately to allow other capable leaders recover our ailing economy”, he added.
